# Don Henley Compilations: A 14-Year Gap and What You Need to Know
In 1995, Don Henley released his first compilation, *Actual Miles: Henley’s Greatest Hits*. Fast forward 14 years to 2009, and we got *The Very Best of Don Henley*.
During that near decade-and-a-half span, Henley dropped just one new album, 2000’s *Inside Job*. This record gave us a couple of minor hit singles. “Taking You Home” was a standout, hitting number 58 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and number 12 on the Adult Top 40 chart.
Here’s the deal: The 2009 compilation doesn’t offer much that wasn’t on the 1995 disc. Even the cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Everybody Knows,” which first appeared on *Actual Miles*, made its way to *The Very Best*. So, swapping hits discs might not be a must. But if you’re in the market for a Don Henley compilation, this one will satisfy. It features all the big hits from *Building the Perfect Beast* and *The End of the Innocence*.
