# Big Big Train's 'Stone & Steel': A Progressive Rock Live Experience

## Band Overview
Big Big Train, an English progressive rock band founded in 1990 in Bournemouth, has had an interesting journey. For much of their career, they were an independent outfit, distributing releases via their website. They've released eight studio albums and three EPs.

Initially, up to 2009, it was mainly a studio project led by Spawton and Poole with fluctuating line-ups and guest musicians. However, after their sixth album, *The Underfall Yard*, which won critical acclaim in the progressive rock scene, a more stable lineup emerged. In 2015, they held their first live concerts in 17 years at Kings Place, London, and these gigs were voted Event Of The Year by *Prog* magazine readers. They also won the Breakthrough Award at the 2013 Progressive Music Awards in London and have been nominated in various categories since.

## 'Stone & Steel' Release
Released on March 21, 2016, 'Stone & Steel' marks Big Big Train's return to live performance after years focused on writing and recording. This Blu-Ray and high-definition download release features:
- **Live Performances**: Nine songs recorded live at Real World studios in August 2014 and four from their London gigs at Kings Place in August 2015.
- **Extra Footage**: Interview and documentary segments.
- **Audio Options**: All live performances are in 5.1 and stereo.
