Directed by Lasse Hoile (known for Steven Wilson / Katatonia / Opeth), 'A Sort of Homecoming' is a breathtaking concert film of Anathema's homecoming show on March 7th, 2015, at the magnificent Liverpool Cathedral. Set to release on 30th October via Kscope (Steven Wilson, TesseracT, Katatonia), Prog Magazine hailed it as “a once in a lifetime experience that words can barely do justice.”

## Anathema's Musical Journey
Anathema, formed in the mid - 90s, have spent most of their career creating indescribable music. They've risen to become one of the UK's most beloved and critically - acclaimed rock bands. In 2014, they returned with 'Distant Satellites', a new studio album that was another remarkable step forward in songwriting. It reached 32 in the UK charts and received praise from major publications like The Guardian (UK), Metal Hammer (UK / DE), Kerrang (UK), Classic Rock (UK / DE), Prog Magazine (UK), Aardschok (NL), Rock Hard (DE), Rolling Stone (Aus).

## Touring and the Acoustic Shows
In 2014 - 15, the band toured globally to promote 'Distant Satellites', both as a full band and with an acoustic show. Their 2014 performance at Gloucester Cathedral opened a new chapter. In March 2015, they embarked on an acoustic tour of UK Cathedrals, ending with a sold - out show in their hometown's Liverpool Cathedral.

## The Filming and Production
Lasse Hoile, who previously worked with Anathema on the 'Universal' concert film, captured the 100 - minute acoustic set in high definition at Liverpool Cathedral. The setlist features 15 songs from albums like 'Distant Satellites', 'Weather Systems', 'We’re Here Because We’re Here', 'A Natural Disaster' and 'Alternative 4'. The 'Anathema Acoustic' trio of Daniel Cavanagh, Vincent Cavanagh and Lee Douglas were joined by the rhythm section and talented friends.

The audio was produced and mixed by Christer - André Cederberg (who worked on previous albums), and the cover and booklet artwork feature stunning photography by Caroline Traitler. This is Anathema's first live release with a 5.1 audio mix, engineered by Bruce Soord.
