# USA Nails' 'Feel Worse': A High-Octane Noise Punk Return

Since their formation in 2013, USA Nails have carved a niche as one of London's most engaging noise punk bands. They've supported renowned post-punk and noise rock acts like Mission of Burma, METZ, and Unsane on UK tours. Despite often preferring support slots, they've amassed a loyal fanbase.

## Evolution of Sound
Their 2014 debut, *Sonic Moist*, was strong. But they've evolved, as seen in their 2020 album *Character Stop*, which featured slower, introspective songs. Now, with *Feel Worse* (released on 22 March 2024), they've upped the speed.

## Thematic Depth
Schadenfreude is the overarching theme. Songs like “Cathartic Entertainment,” “An Audience of Love,” and “On Computer Screen” tackle reality TV exploitation. “Feel Worse” and “Pack of Dogs” address school bullying. Interpersonal tension is reflected in the abrasive guitar-playing of Steven Hodson and Gareth Thomas.

## Album Highlights
At nearly 27 minutes, with only three of ten songs over three minutes, it's filled with tight punk tracks. Standouts include “The Sun in the Sands,” “Pack of Dogs,” “Beautiful Eyes!,” and the fiery title track. “Holiday Sea” (dominated by slow synths) is the weakest, while “I Love It When You Succeed” (with infectious riffs) is a great closer.
