# The Allman Brothers Band's 50th Anniversary Concert: A Historic Farewell Before the Pandemic
On March 11, 2020, just hours before the U.S. ground to a halt because of the pandemic, The Brothers came together at Madison Square Garden. They were there to celebrate The Allman Brothers Band's 50th anniversary. Little did anyone know, this concert would be the last public event for many attendees and the musicians on stage for over a year. It added an air of mystery to an event that marked the close of half a century of musical tradition.
## Star-Studded Performances
Original ABB drummer Jaimoe took the stage, joined by extended Allman family members like Duane Trucks, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Oteil Burbridge, and Marc Quinones. There were also special appearances. Reese Wynans, the original keyboardist from the pre-ABB project Second Coming, and Chuck Leavell, who played with the band from 1972 - 1976, graced the stage.
