Septicflesh paint an apocalyptic picture on their tenth full-length, ‘Codex Omega’, using a musical palette of death metal and orchestral elements. Since their 1990 founding and the alpha EP ‘Temple of the Lost Race’, they've pushed metal genre boundaries. From ‘Mystic Places of Dawn’ (1994) to ‘Sumerian Daemons’ (2003) (re-issued by Season of Mist), they've explored new sonic paths.
After a five-year hiatus, their comeback album ‘Communion’ (2008) blended death, black, and gothic metal with epic orchestration, thanks to guitarist Christos Antoniou's classical composition studies.
With a clear musical direction, Septicflesh continued evolving. ‘The Great Mass’ (2011) and ‘Titan’ (2014) led to rapid growth, more fans, and critical acclaim. Extensive touring and festival performances solidified their status.
Despite the biblical omega signifying the end, Septicflesh reached a peak with ‘Codex Omega’ (2017), showing maturity and craftsmanship.
