## The Story Behind 'Showtime'
During their 'You Are Here' world tour in 2005, UFO filmed a concert at the Pumpwerk Wilhelmshaven in Germany. Now, 'Showtime' is finally released on Blu-ray for the first time. It also includes an amazing acoustic session recorded at the Peppermint Park Studios in Hannover, Germany. There's more bonus content like behind-the-scenes and history interviews. Plus, it features the last performances with drummer Jason Bonham (son of Led Zeppelin's John Bonham) and Pete Way, who left the band due to health issues soon after.
## The Schenker Factor
Most UFO fans believe the best lineup has guitarist Michael Schenker. And they're not wrong. The band's top work came when Schenker was around, like in the '70s with 'Lights Out' and 'Strangers in the Night', and during his mid-'90s return in 'Walk on Water'. But in the 21st century, Schenker left for his solo career, leaving UFO at a crossroads.
## The New Lineup and 'Showtime'
What followed was an interesting and strong non-Schenker lineup: Phil Mogg (vocals), Pete Way (bass), Paul Raymond (keyboards, guitar), Vinnie Moore (guitar), and Jason Bonham (drums). In 2005, 'Showtime' was released, showcasing this lineup. The double-disc CD (also a DVD) focuses on classics like “This Kidds,” “Love to Love,” and “Lights Out” (despite a Mogg vocal slip). Newer tracks from 'You Are Here' like “When Daylight Goes to Town” and “The Wild One” are surprisingly good. While it may not top 'Strangers in the Night', 'Showtime' shows UFO has life after Schenker.
