## The Performance
Recorded live at St Thomas’s Church in Leipzig in July 2004, this concert is special. St Thomas’s Church is the very place where Bach conceived most of his works. In 1959, Jacques Loussier had a revolutionary idea that combined his love for jazz and JS Bach, which made his international reputation. His trio blended the beautiful tunes of the Baroque master Bach with a swinging jazz sound, achieving commercial success rare among jazz musicians. They sold over six million albums in fifteen years.

On Loussier’s 70th birthday, the ensemble performed their greatest hits - jazz arrangements of Bach, Debussy, Satie, and Ravel - for the first time in Bach’s “own” church. The Blu-ray even includes an enlightening bonus track with an artist interview.
