## The Story Behind the Release
To honor the 20th anniversary of “The Visitor” – a favorite among early fans – Arena gave a special treat. During their 2018 European tour, the band played the entire album. This event was recorded and released in 2019 as the double live CD “The Visitor Revisited”. The album's storyboard follows a guy who attempts to cross a frozen lake, breaks through the ice, and slowly sinks to his death. It's a remarkable concept album with a strong musical thread.
## Lineup Changes and Performances
Since the original release, the line-up has evolved. John Jowitt was replaced by Kylan Amos. Paul Manzi took over the vocals. His voice has greater amplitude and power than Paul Wrightson's, but his interpretation is less committed, with a more pop tonality. The overall performance is very much in line with the original, with only minor cosmetic changes, like an added second guitar solo on ‘(Don’t Forget to) Breathe’. The sound is clean, with a prominent drum set, and while synthesizers are present, the piano is rather subdued.
## Track Selection
The second CD offers a conventional overview of Arena's repertoire. Some notable omissions include “Pride” (except in certain shows), “Ascension” from “Contagion”, “The Tinder Box” from “7th Degree…”, “Poison” and “The Mirror Lies” from the last studio album (where Paul Manzi is more comfortable), and from the first album, “Jericho” and “Solomon”. Also absent are “Immortal?”, “Pepper’s Ghost” and “The Unquiet Sky”.
