## The Superband Story
Avantasia, the superband helmed by EDGUY frontman Tobias Sammet, is a force to be reckoned with. Its lineup includes Jorn Lande (Masterplan), Andre Matos (ex-Angra), and Kai Hansen (ex-Helloween).

The live footage for this album was captured at the iconic Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany and Masters of Rock Festival in the Czech Republic. Tracks like ‘Twisted Mind’, ‘Lost in Space’, and ‘Serpents in Paradise’ are part of this epic collection.

## A Musical Odyssey
Avantasia began as an all-star side project. While recording with his regular band, Sammet had the vision of a grand rock opera featuring the best in power metal. After a year of composition, he named the “band” Avantasia and recruited top vocalists like Kai Hansen (Gamma Ray), Timo Tolkki (Stratovarius), and more. The backing band consisted of talented musicians like Jens Ludwig (Edguy) and Henjo Richter (Gamma Ray).

The debut album, The Metal Opera, in 2001, was filled with fantasy themes and anthemic pomp-metal. It was followed by The Metal Opera, Vol. 2 in 2002. Later came the Scarecrow Saga with three albums in 2008 and 2010. The Flying Opera, from the Scarecrow tours, was released in 2011, and in 2012, The Mystery of Time, their biggest production yet, hit the scene.
